Developing and writing technical publications, manuals and documentation for defence systems requires strong collaboration with engineers, technicians and stakeholders to identify documentation needs. Review and edit technical and non-technical content for clarity and accuracy. Additionally, creating graphics, diagrams and illustrations to support technical content is a crucial part of the role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Engineering or trade qualifications (Cert IV and above)
* Strong background in technical writing within Defence, engineering or related industries, particularly with electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC and/or radio frequency (RF) systems
* Excellent written communication skills, including ability to write in Plain English
* Exposure to relevant standards and tools such as DEF (Aust) ****B, S****D, Solidworks, CATIA CAD, and XML/structured authoring
