This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting experience who's eager to step into a hands-on role with visibility across the business.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and review monthly financial statements, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS/AASB) and internal policies
* Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
* Manage and coordinate the external audit process and statutory reporting requirements
* Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
* Provide timely and accurate financial insights and reporting to senior management
* Oversee tax compliance including BAS, FBT, and income tax returns in collaboration with tax advisors
* Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
* Support system implementations and upgrades from a finance perspective
* Partner with operational teams to understand business drivers and provide financial advice
* Mentor and support junior finance team members
Your Skills & Experience
* CA/CPA qualified
* 5+ years' experience in financial accounting, preferably within a medium to large business
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Netsuite)
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
