The Roles
We are currently working with a number of boutique, national and global top tier law firms in need of Legal Support staff across various areas of law, including Commercial Litigation, Medical Negligence, M&A, Construction, Insolvency, Work Health & Safety, Corporate, Real Estate… and more
Duties
Depending on the role, typical day to day duties will include:
* Managing word processing, document preparation, and drafting correspondence
* Handling diary management using Outlook
* Managing financial tasks, including external and internal billing, reporting, and third‑party invoicing
* Collaborating with both internal and external clients as needed
* Coordinating travel arrangements
* Recording client information in a contacts database
* Establishing, closing, and archiving client matter files
* Providing guidance and mentoring to junior legal assistant staff
* Performing various general administrative duties, such as filing and photocopying
You
To be considered for Legal Support positions, you will have:
* A minimum of 1-2 years of legal secretary experience
* A desire for longevity in a support position (unfortunately it is extremely rare for us to recruit for positions suitable for students or graduates)
* Excellent communications and organisational skills
* A can‑do attitude and willingness to learn
* Valid work visa or Australian work authorisation is required
Please note - it is extremely rare for us to recruit for positions suitable for law students or for candidates without prior experience as a legal secretary. This is because most of our clients run their own clerkship and graduate programs, and they therefore engage with Assiduous Staffing only for career support roles.
