The Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs (Bell School) is a world-leading centre for research, education, and policy analysis on international and Asia Pacific politics, security, diplomacy, and strategic affairs. The School comprises a number of vibrant, interdisciplinary, intellectual communities: the Department of International Relations, the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, the Department of Political and Social Change, and the Department of Pacific Affairs.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Program Administrator to provide high-level administrative support for the Bachelor of Asia Pacific Affairs (BAPA) dual degree program delivered in partnership between ANU and Ritsumeikan University, Japan. Reporting to the Program Manager, the role provides end-to-end student administration from admission through to graduation, including enrolments, assessment support and graduation processes, while ensuring compliance with relevant ANU policies and the dual degree agreement.

The position also supports prospective student enquiries, coordinates operational and logistical arrangements for ANU staff teaching in Japan (including travel, accommodation and visas) and provides secretariat support to joint governance committees, while contributing to program reporting, event coordination and ongoing improvements to program delivery across both institutions to ensure the smooth operation of this complex international program.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have experience in university administration or a similar tertiary education environment, with a strong understanding of coursework administration processes including admissions, enrolments, assessment and graduation. You will also demonstrate well-developed organisational and problem-solving skills, strong initiative and the ability to work independently, including while based overseas for periods of time. You will have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders in a cross-cultural and international context. An awareness of Japanese culture and the ability to communicate in Japanese would be highly desirable.
