You’ll have the chance to work in design teams to help deliver exciting projects, contribute to bids and tenders, and even get hands-on with occasional site work. In your first year, we’ll focus on the fundamentals of consulting to help you find your rhythm in the industry. By year two, you’ll have the flexibility to style your development, whether that’s diving deeper into your technical development or soaking up wisdom from your mentors. Who are we looking for? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Communications Engineer to join GHD’s Building Engineering team. You’ll help design and deliver communication systems that support complex buildings and critical-infrastructure projects. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about ICT, networks, wireless technologies and the built environment. Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Telecommunications, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering (or similar) Interest in ICT networks, communications systems, radio/wireless technologies or building technology Coursework or experience in communications engineering, electronics, networking or systems engineering Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn Bonus: familiarity with CAD/Revit, basic programming, modelling tools, or network concepts What will you get to do? As a Graduate Communications Engineer, you’ll support the design and delivery of communication systems for major buildings. Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll: Assist in designing ICT infrastructure, fibre-optic networks, communication nodes and AV systems Help model wireless coverage, microwave radio links, mobile coverage and in-building Wi-Fi performance Contribute to large-scale projects including Defence facilities, data centres, transport, and renewable energy hubs Build capability in smart-building technologies, IoT systems and emerging communications platforms Support project delivery across all stages—from design and documentation to installation, testing and commissioning Collaborate with architects, building-services engineers and contractors to produce coordinated, high-quality design outcomes A frizz-free application process: We want your journey to be as smooth as possible, so here’s everything you need to help you prep like a pro: Your CV: This gives us a snapshot of what you’ve studied and your experiences, both paid and unpaid. Psychometric assessments: These quick tests give us a glimpse into how you like to work and your strengths in relation to the role, complementing what we learn during your interview.
