Based in Henderson, the Network and Systems Administrator will support Austal's corporate ICT and Operational Technology (OT) environments within a hands on, operational shipbuilding environment. This role is well suited to a professional with approximately 2 to 5 years' experience who enjoys working close to the technology, supporting critical systems, and building practical expertise across enterprise networking, systems, cybersecurity, and OT environments.
As a shipbuilder, Austal operates a highly operational, mission critical environment, and this role requires a practical, proactive, and hands on approach to system and network support, working across both day to day operations and project activities. This role is primarily focused on Level 1 to 2 operational support, with opportunities to gain exposure to and assist with Level 3 activities and projects.

What's Involved
* Install, configure, maintain, and support ICT and OT network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and associated services.
* Provide operational support for a range of ICT and OT systems, including on‐premises and cloud based platforms.
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network and system issues to ensure availability, performance, and security.
* Assist with the implementation of network, system, and cybersecurity improvements as part of ongoing projects.
* Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to support business and operational requirements.
* Maintain documentation, configurations, and procedures in line with organisational standards.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the evolution of ICT and OT capabilities.
You'll Need
* Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Systems and/or Network Administration role.
* Relevant technical qualification (University degree or TAFE diploma).
* Hands‐on experience supporting Cisco switching environments.
* Hands‐on experience supporting firewall platforms (FortiGate experience highly regarded).
* Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including implementation of IP security technologies across IT and OT environments.
* Experience supporting a modern Windows (Wintel) environment.
* Strong motivation to learn, develop, and upskill in a technical environment.
* Logical and analytical problem‐solving skills with a proactive approach.
* Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
* High level of attention to detail, situational awareness, and accountability.
* Other desirable but not essential skills include: CCNP certification, experience working in Operational Technology (OT) environments, understanding of ITIL processes, experience with Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, Microsoft 365 and/or Microsoft Azure.
