The role
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the development engineering team to achieve council's strategic and operational goals
- Oversee subdivision design, construction, and inspection processes
- Drive cross‐functional collaboration and represent council in negotiations with developers and utilities
- Manage complex projects and contracts with a focus on safety, compliance, and risk
- Contribute to group‐level initiatives, special projects and strategic planning
- Mentor, coach and develop team members for performance and growth
- Deliver high‐quality reports, submissions, and briefings to senior stakeholders
About you
- Degree‐qualified Civil Engineer with extensive industry experience
- Proven leadership experience in a complex, multidisciplinary setting
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Deep understanding of civil design, risk, and financial management

- Base salary between $119,986.67 and $139,773.92 (dependent on skills and experience) + 12.5% superannuation
