**About the Role**
We are focused on providing quality Welfare and Engagement (W&E;) services and support that provide detainees with skills, confidence, and opportunities to proactively engage and explore options pertaining to their health and wellbeing.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualification or experience in an associated discipline eg: Social Work or other Social Science / Human Services disciplines such as Community work, sports and recreation or learning and development
- Diploma level qualification in an associated discipline such as Social Work or
other Social Science/Human disciplines such as Community Work, sports and recreation or learning and development
- Minimum of 2 years’ (full time equivalent) experience in managing and conducting structured programmes and activities for adults or families
- Experience in working with people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and different religious backgrounds
- Significant Staff Management experience
- Experience supporting people with high needs, either in disability or aged care service
- Maintain a current Working with Children Certificate in accordance with the relevant state or territory child protection legislation
- Meet the character and training requirements of the Migration Act 1958 in order to be designated as an Officer under the Act
- Maintain a current Australian Federal Police Clearance
- Understand risk management principles
- Hold and maintain HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates with at least 6 months of currency on the certificate
- Ability to do some light lifting duties
- Unrestricted current Drivers Licence

A flexible mind set, able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with the ability to promote an environment that supports and maintains positive behaviour. You are emotionally resilient, adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress such as family, health or workplace stressors, maintaining psychological well-being.
As the coordinator you will have oversight of the weekend activities, therefore flexibility to occasionally work out of business hours/on weekends is required.[VA1]
