Western NSW Community Legal Centre Inc. (WNSWCLC) is seeking a compassionate and committed Caseworker – Domestic Violence to join our Western Women’s Legal Support (WWLS) team. This role is dedicated to providing trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and non-judgmental support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. The successful candidate will deliver holistic non-legal assistance to clients, coordinate referrals, and support access to justice across regional and remote communities in Western NSW.

Western NSW Community Legal Centre (WNSWCLC) is a not-for-profit organisation working to improve access to justice for people facing disadvantage across the region. We provide free legal advice, representation, referrals, and community education to empower and support our communities. The specialist unit, Western Women’s Legal Support (WWLS), delivers trauma-informed, culturally safe support to women and children affected by domestic and family violence.

We are values-driven and committed to justice, respect, and advocacy for systemic change through community engagement and law reform.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Caseworker – Domestic Violence, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting women and children affected by domestic and family violence. Your key responsibilities include:

* Providing non-legal support, including safety planning, needs assessments, and crisis intervention.
* Developing tailored Case Management Plans to support client safety and wellbeing.
* Assisting clients in accessing police, courts, and relevant community and health services.
* Conducting outreach work across the region, including occasional overnight trips, to deliver support in regional and remote areas.
* Working closely with WWLS solicitors to ensure a coordinated response to client needs.
* Participating in law reform efforts to advocate for systemic change in the domestic violence space.
* Delivering community legal education sessions and contributing to public awareness campaigns.
* Building referral pathways with community, health, and legal organisations.
* Maintaining accurate records, conducting file reviews, and participating in regular casework meetings.

ABOUT YOU We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting women and children affected by domestic violence. You will have:

* A sound understanding of the complexities and impacts of domestic and family violence.
* Experience in case management, including risk and safety assessments.
* Ability to work respectfully with clients from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
* High-level written and verbal communication skills.
* Capacity to build effective partnerships with community, health, and legal services.
* A commitment to social justice, equity, and access to support services.
* A current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
* Tertiary qualifications in social work, welfare, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Experience working in a community legal centre, women’s service, or related sector (desirable).

REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS
