About the Role
Reporting to the Planning & Projects Manager, the Senior Town Planner will play a key role in managing complex development applications and coordinating planning outcomes that align with the business's strategic objectives. This senior position requires at least five years of planning experience and the confidence to contribute technical expertise and leadership across a range of regional projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and assess complex development applications, planning proposals, and subdivision designs.
* Interpret and apply relevant state and local planning legislation, policies, and guidelines.
* Liaise with councils, consultants, and internal teams to achieve timely approvals and quality outcomes.
* Prepare and coordinate Statements of Environmental Effects and related planning documentation.
* Conduct site analysis and identify planning opportunities and constraints.
* Negotiate outcomes and provide planning advice that supports the success of business projects.
* Support project delivery by coordinating approvals (DAs, CDCs, CCs, SCs) and managing RFIs.
* Provide technical input across the project lifecycle, from concept to completion.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum five years' experience in town planning (residential or consulting environment preferred).
* A tertiary qualification in Urban or Regional Planning (or a related discipline).
* Strong understanding of the NSW planning system and development assessment processes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical details for different audiences.
* Proven problem‐solving and negotiation skills, with sound professional judgement.
* Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate across diverse teams.
* Current Australian Driver's Licence and full working rights.
