Job Description
The Louis Dreyfus Company is currently recruiting for the full‑time position of Assistant Ginner, based in Edith NT. This position is responsible for the efficient, effective and safe operation of all areas under their control. While based in Katherine, the role may require travel to other LDC gin sites as required. Remuneration will be tailored to the level of the role, qualifications, experience and knowledge. Relocation expenses can also be negotiated if required.
Key Responsibilities
* Gin operation and safety
* Assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the gin site
* Maintain machinery and equipment to the highest standard to facilitate continuity of production and quality
* Employee supervision
* Assist ginner and site management with ensuring work permits are completed for all high‑risk activity
Qualifications
Essential skills
* Mechanical experience or trade background
* Ability to identify and control weaknesses in process and implement best practices
* Self‑starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative and challenge when required
* Good work ethic and team player
* Ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Desired but not essential skills
* Prior experience supervising staff in a maintenance/production environment
* Sound computer skills
