Recruitment Advisor at Harmony Australasia
Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. Harmony is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, Australia. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.
Position Description:
Assist in the safe and successful completion of engineering projects by organising, controlling, and coordinating project elements from conceptualisation until completion - engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning (including integration of these where required) and project controls - and ensuring the adherence to requirements and specifications, are within the budget\'s goals, and the required deadline.
Roster: Reporting to the Principal Project Engineer you will work a 5/2 roster in the Brisbane office with ad hoc travel to PNG and other sites in Australia as required.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain the project program and supporting documentation for each phase of the project (s) including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
* Planning and forecasting of project budgets and timelines to assure that the project is accurately completed to schedule and on budget.
* Monitor the compliance of the project(s) to ensure that industry codes and practices are adhered to, quality assurance policies are followed, and performance standards are met.
* Responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project - plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements.
* Coordinating and administering construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.
* Responsible for the development of concepts and PFS for all major projects and where required engage an engineering consultant.
* Analysis of Critical Path activities.
* Conduct Package Risk Analysis (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning) as required, identifying options for corrective action.
* Integration of Package subcontractors, suppliers, and service provider programs into the overall portfolio program.
* Measure, monitor, and manage updates of project progress and advise corrective action as required.
* Attend site when required to perform duties.
* Deliver timely, accurate and appropriate project reporting.
* Manage and review the PFS and FS consultants\' work, timeframes, and budgets.
* Review procurement and expediting activities with the Project Procurement Team.
About You:
* Strong area/package management experience.
* Minimum 15 years project management, project engineering, or project planning experience (scope, schedule, cost, quality).
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mining industry
* Proven computer platform experience.
* Experience developing and maintaining Project schedule, Work breakdown structures and project controls.
* Develop and control the full project-plan lifecycle.
* Bachelor of Engineering or related field of study
* High level of initiative.
* The ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly.
* High level organisational skills.
* Complex thinking to understand potential unintended consequences.
* The ability to work within budgets and to deadlines
* Team leader and coaching experience
