Apprentice Fitter Role
We are seeking a highly motivated maintenance apprentice to join our team in South Australia. This is a full-time, shift-based position where you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems across winery operations.
You will be supported by experienced mentors and structured learning through TAFE, working towards a nationally recognised qualification while gaining hands-on experience with vintage equipment, pumps, conveyors, and more.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance on winery machinery
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in tanks, pumps, presses, etc.
* Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
* Assist with equipment installation and commissioning
* Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
* Record maintenance activities and parts usage
* Support general facility maintenance and inventory management
* Adhere to safety, environmental, and food-grade standards
Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Completion of Year 11 or 12 with solid Maths & English
* Pre-vocational course or Cert I/II (advantageous but not essential)
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Forklift License (advantageous but not essential)
* Driver's license
