Sous Chef
to join our Black Bar & Grill Team at The Star Sydney.

Responsibilities
Assist Chef de Cuisine to manage guest service effectiveness, team performance and development, and service improvements.
Oversee multiple stations by supervising and leading by example.
Train and coach Commis and Demi Chefs, guiding employees to perform kitchen operations.
Ensure outlets comply with HACCP standards by conducting daily monitoring and walkthroughs of the back of house.
Review stocktake daily and ensure appropriate orders are placed and stock received.
What we are looking for
Solid experience as a Jr Sous/Sous Chef and relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
Experience working in high-end culinary operations with wood-fire cooking.
Strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to commit to 40 hours per week working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
