We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and highly experienced Senior ICT Project Manager to join our client's ICT Delivery Team.
In this role, you will support staff transition to new ways of working, focusing on the delivery of critical ICT and network infrastructure projects within a utility environment.
This is a contract role with an immediate start required.
Function & Responsibilities
Reporting into the Manager, Digital Operations, and collaborating with cross-functional project teams, vendors, regulatory bodies, and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, your key responsibilities will include:
* Developing detailed project plans covering scope, objectives, timelines, resources, risk management, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and stakeholder expectations
* Identifying and evaluating potential project risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delivery impact
* Leading, mentoring, and motivating cross-functional project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
* Leading commercial negotiations with vendors, including end-to-end contract development and management
* Acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, local authorities, and community groups
* Managing project budgets, tracking expenses, accruals, and forward forecasts to ensure efficient use of resources and achievement of financial targets
* Overseeing the monitoring and reporting of project progress, performance metrics, and key deliverables, preparing detailed status reports for senior management
* Ensuring all project documentation is completed accurately and maintained for auditing purposes
About You
The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
* 10+ years' experience as a Project Manager, with extensive ICT/Network infrastructure delivery background
* Demonstrated utility sector experience, including delivery of replacement ICT/Network infrastructure
* Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
* Strong financial management skills — budget tracking, accruals, and forward forecasting
* Advanced scheduling experience using Microsoft Project Professional
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and lead the production of business cases and project artefacts
* Strong business acumen with a customer-centric approach to solving complex business problems
* Able to manage multiple deliverables and schedules simultaneously with minimal supervision
* Comfortable working under pressure and adhering to strict agreed deadlines
* Accountable, proactive, and eager to take on new challenges
