The Role
Working closely with our Workplace and Safety Partner in Melbourne, Laura Gavan, you will have the opportunity to gain broad experience across various workplace relations and safety law matters, including:
* Discrimination and harassment matters;
* Conducting workplace investigations;
* Conducting performance management and termination of employment processes in a procedurally fair manner;
* Responding to employee misconduct issues;
* Advising on employee entitlements and the interpretation of industrial instruments;
* Developing strong workplace policies; and
* Defending work health and safety prosecutions.
What you'll bring
* Be a Senior Associate or an Associate ready to take a step up
* Experience in employment and/or safety law, ideally with disputes experience. PQE can be flexible for the right candidate.
* An understanding of insurance law principles and practice is well regarded but not mandatory.
* Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
* Interest in conducting presentations and business development activities.
