* Salary ranges from $113,574.00 – $125,720.00 pa super & leave loading
Central Tablelands Local Land Services is looking for a Biosecurity Project and Programs Officer to assist the Invasive Species team with project management and the delivery of on‐ground programs and advisory services for the management of animal biosecurity for the region and for surveillance and investigation activities as they relate to pest animal management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the Central Tablelands LLS Pest Levy project and/or additional external targeted funding projects, responsible for project management contract development and budget oversight including phasing and project reporting.
* Prepare and deliver the annual Pest Levy Service Delivery Plan and other plans as required in collaboration with the Invasive Species team.
* Provide oral and written reporting to the Leadership team.
* Manage communications with the Invasive Species team for internal and external newsletters and provide media input where needed.
* Assist in the management and organisation of mandatory training for the Invasive Species team.
* Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate and deliver relevant programs.
* Assist in responding to ad‐hoc enquiries and attend emergency management activities.
* Ensure CTLLS remains compliant in its legislated responsibilities, including the use of restricted chemical products and agricultural chemicals.
* Prioritise timely and accurate reporting and management of data and documents.
* Attend community meetings where required and assist with bait preparation and major on‐ground programmes as needed (if suitable training is completed).
Qualifications include:
* A sound knowledge of invasive pest animal management and compliance as it relates to the relevant legislation.
* An understanding of biosecurity issues, particularly as they relate to pest animal management.
* The ability to act as a reference point and guide for the team in making decisions in challenging scenarios, managing industry and community expectations while operating in a fast‐paced technical environment.
* A Certificate IV in Government Investigations or the willingness to complete it.
* Appropriate qualifications (minimum AQF3 level) and knowledge relevant to pesticide application, or the willingness to obtain it.
* The ability to be appointed as an Authorised Officer under the Local Land Services Act 2013, the Public Spaces (unattended property) Act 2021, and the Biosecurity Act, with demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and apply legislation and regulations.
* Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel (including overnight stays) as required.
* Willingness to undertake a Police check and medical clearance.
