Project Controls Specialist – CostTasNetworks is seeking a highly capable professional to support the North West Transmission Developments (NWTD) by leading the project's cost management, cost control, and cost forecasting functions. In this key role, you will act as the project's subject matter expert for cost performance, ensuring the effective implementation of the project's Cost Management and Cost Forecasting Frameworks in alignment with TasNetworks and NWTD governance requirements. You will work closely with Commercial, Planning, and EPC partners to establish and maintain the project's cost structures, earned value processes, and financial performance insights, directly supporting informed decision‐making across a major infrastructure program.
What You'll Do
* Develop and maintain the project's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), and Earned Value Management (EVM) processes.
* Lead cost forecasting, variance analysis, and cost performance reporting across the NWTD project.
* Ensure alignment between cost, schedule, and physical progress, including rules of credit and progress measurement.
* Support change management, contingency drawdown, and budget transfer processes.
* Produce high‐quality cost metrics, dashboards, S‐curves, and executive‐level reporting for project leadership and governance forums.
* Collaborate with internal teams and EPC partners to ensure accurate, timely, and integrated cost information.
About You
You're an experienced project controls professional with strong capability in cost management, cost control, and earned value management within major infrastructure, EPC, or capital works environments. You understand how cost, schedule, scope, and risk interact, and you're confident interpreting technical documentation, commercial frameworks, and contract requirements. You bring a structured, analytical approach, with the ability to translate complex cost data into clear insights and recommendations. You're comfortable working across multi‐disciplinary teams and engaging with senior stakeholders, contractors, and technical specialists to ensure cost integrity and alignment with project objectives. You thrive in environments where accuracy, governance, and proactive problem‐solving matter and have experience with tools such as Primavera P6, InEight control and change modules, SAP, advanced Excel, QRA and Monte Carlo techniques.
