About the Role
This role is responsible for providing high-quality legal advice to senior executives and other officers in the Department. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and contribute to the development of capabilities in legal issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide timely and accurate legal advice on infrastructure, major projects, economic development, commercial, contract, construction, property, administrative law, compulsory acquisition processes, and State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971.
* Draft and review various agreements, including leases, licenses, easements, development agreements, and funding agreements.
* Contribute to strengthening capabilities of managers and staff in legal issues, mentor junior lawyers, engage external legal firms, and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Assist General Counsel and Directors in identifying trends, risks, and emerging legal issues affecting the Department.
