We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to provide high-level financial, analytical, and strategic advice within a diverse and multi-faceted operating environment. This role supports organizational decision-making, governance, and performance improvement across property ownership, tenancy management, hospitality operations, and grant administration.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and operational teams to deliver accurate financial reporting, forward-looking analysis, budgeting, valuation, cost control, and risk management. This role requires strong commercial acumen, advanced analytical capability, and the ability to translate complex financial information into practical insights.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Management Reporting
* Prepare and deliver timely and accurate management reports, financial statements, and performance dashboards.
* Provide variance analysis and commentary against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
* Support month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and accruals.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
* Lead the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial models.
* Develop scenario modelling to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
* Monitor financial performance across multiple business streams and cost centers.
Property & Tenancy Financial Management
* Provide financial oversight and analysis for property assets and tenancy portfolios, including rental income, outgoings, and lifecycle costs.
* Assist with financial assessments relating to leases, make-good provisions, capital works, and asset valuations.
* Support decision-making on property investments and operational efficiency.
Hospitality & Operational Finance
* Analyze hospitality operations, including revenue streams, margins, labour costs, and inventory controls.
* Support pricing, profitability, and cost-control initiatives within a dynamic operating environment.
* Work collaboratively with operational managers to improve financial performance.
Grant & Compliance Reporting
* Oversee financial reporting and acquittals for grant-funded programs, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and legislative requirements.
* Maintain robust financial controls and audit-ready documentation.
* Provide advice on grant budgeting, expenditure tracking, and risk management.
Governance, Risk & Improvement
* Contribute to strong financial governance frameworks and internal controls.
* Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing clear recommendations to management.
* Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting practices.
About YouEssential
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
* CPA or CA qualification (or working towards).
* Demonstrated experience in a management accounting or commercial finance role.
* Strong skills in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
* Ability to work across complex, multi-stream operations.
* High level of proficiency in accounting systems and Excel (or equivalent tools).
* Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
Desirable
* Experience in property, tenancy, hospitality, or government / grant-funded environments.
* Knowledge of lease accounting, asset management, or grant compliance frameworks.
* Experience supporting executive leadership or boards.
