We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our Approved Maintenance Organisation and uphold our high standards of safety, compliance and quality.
The Opportunity
As Head of Engineering, you'll hold delegated authority over our AMO Certificate of Approval, reporting to the COO and CEO. You'll shape and execute engineering strategy, manage safety and compliance, and ensure our fleet remains airworthy across line, base, workshop, supply chain and training functions. This leadership team position demands a hands-on approach and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and control the AMO Certificate of Approval, liaising with CASA and other authorities
* Develop and implement engineering policies, expositions, and safety and quality systems
* Oversee regulatory compliance in line with the CASR suite, ensuring all systems, procedures and certifications align
* Maintain, review and provision instructions for Continued Airworthiness
* Drive safety, quality and compliance culture, ensuring all staff are committed to providing and implementing the safest environment possible and in adherence with our safety management systems
* Lead our engineering teams, including recruitment, performance management and professional development
* Establish and monitor work programmes with Production Planning and Shift Supervision
* Control engineering budget, resources and subcontractor relationships
* Review, assess and address on time fleet performance, and
* Provide regular feedback and strategic direction to the COO and CEO.
Who You Are
Strong leadership experience with expert communication are the underpinning requirements of this role. Robust analytical, reasoning and lateral thinking abilities are key, with an active employee management focus, and tenacity, awareness and attention to detail other important pre-requisite skills.
Prior experience as a Head of Engineering or similar Approved Person with the proven ability to successfully manage large teams in high-capacity RPT and/or MRO operations are highly regarded and applications from such candidates are encouraged.
Similarly, candidates who hold an Advanced Diploma of Aviation Maintenance Management (Avionics or Mechanical) or equivalent, with lengthy leadership experience are also welcomed to apply.
Comprehensive knowledge of current regulations including CASA Part 145 and Part 42 are a must, along with an expertise in Expositions, Engineering Procedures Manuals and Safety Management Systems.
