SUMMARY
Opportunity at a leading Sydney-based University for an experienced IT/Technology Lawyer - hardware and software. In this 3-month contract role, you will work within an exceptional in-house legal team and a collaborative IT department, with a high degree of independence in a stimulating environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance.
THE ROLE
Working closely with the legal team and information technology (IT) project teams, you will:
* Three-month contract role to start ASAP
* Play a key role in providing strategic legal advice for complex, high-value work
* Provide legal advice and services to meet the needs of internal clients on a wide range of software and hardware agreements, including:
* Licensing
* Procurement
* Development
* Work with key stakeholders to enable high-quality and consistent legal advice and support the achievement of the strategic objectives of the University
* Work with external providers to deliver key projects
ABOUT YOU
You are a senior IT lawyer with:
* At least 8+ years' post-admission experience
* Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts in support of IT – such as procurement, licensing, and commercial matters in relation to cloud services, software, hardware, and other infrastructure, managed services, and IT professional services
* Experience with aspects of intellectual property law in relation to IT would be useful
* Experience working with or in the higher education sector will be helpful, but not essential
* Pragmatic and commercially focused
