Job purpose
An apprenticeship with Ricoh offers a fantastic opportunity to gain practical industry experience and achieve relevant qualifications while earning a wage. As an apprentice, you will develop skills by working within key business areas specific to your programme and will be supported by a designated mentor. A learning provider will also assist you in achieving academic qualifications and specialist skills that can be transferred back into the workplace.
During this 4-year programme, you will learn how to conduct planned and reactive engineering activities on various automated equipment, including packaging machinery, filling lines, digital ink manufacturing systems, and stencil manufacturing in a fast-moving, highly automated environment. You will learn to safely troubleshoot, diagnose, and rectify faults on machinery and production lines, and complete planned preventative maintenance procedures. Skills gained will include Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) program interrogation to aid fault diagnosis, and identifying and rectifying issues with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Other activities include equipment installation, facilities maintenance, and supporting new business activities.
This role is based in our engineering and technical department, training to be a multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias. The programme is aimed at those seeking a career in hands-on engineering and is ideal for individuals who prefer a practical learning experience.
