About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Credit Controller to manage credit risk, manage customer accounts, and ensure timely payment collection. If you're passionate about finance, customer service, and risk management, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor the credit control process, following up on overdue payments, and resolving any disputes.
- Conduct thorough credit risk assessments and recommend credit limits in line with company policies, escalating high-risk accounts when required.
- Manage customer accounts efficiently, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date to support compliance requirements.
- Issue reminder notices and credit hold communications in accordance with agreed credit control timeline.
- Work collaboratively with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve overdue payments, aged claims, and to reduce the risk of recurring delays.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all reconciliations and journals are completed accurately and on time.
- Manage and resolve complex account matters by applying sound judgment and preparing detailed, evidence-backed summaries and action plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance or a related discipline (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable functions, preferably in a fast-paced or multi-regional setting.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal audit control frameworks is advantageous.
- Sound understanding of ABN/NZBN systems and legal business structures relevant to credit risk assessment.
- Proficient in ERP and call centre platforms, including SAP, MP5, AS400, BPCS, and Zendesk.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular strength in Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Maintains professionalism when handling urgency, pressure, or escalations.
