All our hospitals are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and veterinary technology to provide the very best in patient care. We are looking for a Surgery Nurse to join our Stafford team.
About The Role
As a Surgical Nurse at QVS, you will deliver high level perioperative care across a variety of complex surgical cases. Your role includes surgical preparation, maintaining sterile technique, monitoring anaesthesia, managing post-operative pain and recovery, and supporting advanced diagnostic procedures to ensure safe, smooth patient outcomes. Working alongside a specialist surgical and anaesthesia team, you'll grow your skills in advanced techniques while contributing to a collaborative, supportive environment committed to excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities
* Receive dedicated mentorship as you transition into specialist surgical nursing, with strong support to grow from GP nursing into advanced practice.
* Work across a broad range of challenging and high-risk anaesthesia cases, developing confidence and capability in complex patient care.
* Contribute to a varied and rewarding caseload, supported by a skilled, collaborative team that values your expertise and contributions.
* Build advanced anaesthetic skills, including arterial lines, advanced CRIs, nerve blocks and comprehensive critical monitoring.

Requirements of the Role
* Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.
* At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in Veterinary Nursing. General Practice nurses welcome to apply Our team of highly trained nurses and technicians are passionate about teaching.
* Confidence in anaesthesia monitoring. Our specialist anaesthesia team and highly trained nurses/techs are ready to support you through this next step in your career in specialist nursing.
