About the role

Reporting to the NSW Operations Manager, the Branch Manager plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the business. This is a varied, hands‑on and newly created role where you will be managing a small team in the ferrous yard.


Key Responsibilities

* Managing and coordinating the logistics, administration and customer service of the branch
* Managing daily operations including people leadership
* Employee management and leading performance reviews
* Contributing to ongoing process improvements
* Communicating regularly with state trading team on sales management and planning
* Managing KPI’s of the branch
* Ensuring the operation of the yard is working in adherence with site safety policies and procedures
* Coordinating and processing scrap

We are looking for a safety-oriented leader with a high level of energy, great problem‑solving skills and conceptual thinking. The ideal candidate will be customer focused and passionate about building relationships and driving operational improvement.

Qualifications

* Leadership experience ideally within recycling / manufacturing / heavy industry
* Demonstrated ability leading a small but diverse team, and managing performance
* Comfortable working autonomously
* Business acumen and P&L knowledge
* Trading or sales experience, desirable
* Strong communication skills to interpret reports, identify trends and make recommendations
