About the role
The Apprentice HD Mechanic role is a directly supervised, hands on role learning the heavy diesel trade within the underground Mining Mobile maintenance workshop guided by highly qualified and motivated tradespeople within our maintenance team.
On the job trade learning ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe, professional and efficient manner in accordance with best practices to ensure benchmark performance of our mining mobile fleet, whilst meeting key metrics and maintaining Zero Harm Operations
Through your on-the-job experience and TAFE course work, you will learn to diagnose and repair:
- Engine and engine components such as drive and support systems
- Mobile plant braking systems, fluid power and steering systems
- Drive assembles and transmissions
- Electrical and electronic circuit systems
- Ensure the underground fleet maintenance is carried out in a professional and efficient manner following sound workmanship standards focused on quality of repair.
- Ensure Housekeeping in all responsible work areas and when maintaining the mobile equipment fleet is maintained to the highest standard.
- Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.

About you
- Currently reside within the Kalgoorlie area
- Previous Cert II in Engineering is advantageous or those wanting to upskill on their current trade.

- Strong commitment to safety as a way of work
- Current "C" Class Australian Drivers Licence
