We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Knitwear Product Developer to join our team. This role is pivotal in transforming creative concepts into high-quality, commercially successful knitwear products—delivered on time and within cost targets.
Success in this position requires a strong blend of technical knitwear expertise, product development execution, and commercial awareness, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time role based in our office in Surry Hills, close to Central Station.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Knitwear Manager and Design Team to interpret design concepts and product direction
* Create detailed CAD illustrations to support range development and planning
* Specification sheets
* Yarn, stitch, construction, and finishing guidelines
* Liaise with suppliers to communicate clear instructions, timelines, and expectations
* Manage the sampling process, ensuring timely delivery for design and buying meetings
* Oversee fittings by working closely with the Design Team and Knitwear Manager, providing clear feedback to suppliers
* Finalise graded specification sheets and production details for bulk manufacturing
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar knitwear product development role
* Strong technical knowledge of knitwear, including yarns, stitches, construction, specifications, and finishes
* Proven experience working within critical path timelines
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and PLM systems
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Commercially aware, results-driven, and detail-oriented
