About the Role
The Health, Safety and Environment Manager will lead a team of professionals in maintaining a strong health, safety and environment culture within the organization. This involves overseeing the implementation of HSE initiatives, providing coaching and mentoring to site teams, and facilitating risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Line responsibility for the regional Surface HSE team, and oversight over site-based and roving HSE&T personnel.
* Attend site and support continuous improvement in HSE performance by spending time in the field with senior leaders, site leaders, and HSE&T personnel coaching in the implementation of a variety of field leadership and control verification activities.
* Provide mentoring, coaching, leadership, and advisory support for site HSE teams and site operational leaders.
* SUPPORT THE OPERATIONS MANAGER AND AUSDRILL SENIOR LEADERS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGIC HSE INITIATIVES AND IMPROVEMENT PLANS.
* Liaise with direct line managers and HR, coordinate movements of HSE&T team members between sites to best meet business requirements.
* In conjunction with relevant stakeholders, develop and oversee the execution of the Annual HSE&T plan.
* Actively participate in the performance management and development of HSE&T personnel.
* Regularly assess the performance of sites, providing governance of the implementation of strategic safety initiatives and improvement plans to achieve HSE&T targets and objectives.
* FACILITATE SHARING OF LESSONS LEARNED AND GOOD PRACTICE TO ENSURE CONSISTENCY AND ALIGNMENT ACROSS THE REGION.
* Oversight the implementation of incident reporting and investigation processes, including the review of incident investigations and provision of support to ensure high-quality outcomes are achieved.
* Undertake performance and data analysis to identify performance trends or improvement opportunities.
About You:
* A minimum 8 years' experience in a HSE role is required.
* A minimum 8 years' experience in the mining or related industry is required.
* Competent in facilitating ICAM investigations.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach others.
* Maintain an up-to-date understanding of safety models and theories based off current research and operational knowledge.
* High degree of understanding of risk management principles and ability to facilitate risk assessments.
Education, Qualifications & Training:
* Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (Certificate or Diploma).
* Certificate IV Assessment and Workplace Training.
* Lead Auditor qualifications.
