Job Purpose
This role defines and fulfills UGLRL's Technical Assurance Obligations (TAO) for bridge construction, aligning with UGL procedures, TfNSW requirements, relevant codes, and industry best practices. The successful candidate will manage pre-planning and construction delivery to achieve project time and budget objectives, leading the project delivery process and driving completion of work in accordance with TAO requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Define and fulfill UGLRL TAO obligations for bridge construction in line with UGL procedures, TfNSW requirements, relevant codes, and industry best practice.
2. Review and approve designs as construction and TAO representative.
3. Accountable for all construction management to ensure projects are implemented according to plans, designs, and specifications.
4. Accountable for design adherence or controlled changes in line with UGLRL procedures.
5. Define and implement quality assurance systems and processes required to fulfill TAO requirements.
6. Act as technical representative and nominated signatory for all hold and witness points.
7. Accountable for creation, updating, and adherence to the project programme.
8. Liaise with Project Planner to ensure adequate track possession by methods of Long-term application or As Trains Permit bid sheets.
9. Accountable for site construction budgets, cost to date, and cost reporting requirements.
10. Review costs and take remedial actions to ensure Financial Control remains within acceptable limits of the budget at all stages of the project.
11. Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project.
12. Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions.
13. Accountable for management of contractors to ensure contractual, programme, cost, HSE, and quality outcomes are achieved.
14. Provide required reports to the Senior Project Manager - Bridges to meet monthly reporting timelines.
15. Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, (Civil)
2. 5-15 years' postgraduate experience with 5+ years site-based.
3. Demonstrated delivery of minor/major projects to program and budget specifications in a leadership role.
4. Extensive experience on structures projects with personal and technical attributes of a level to attain and maintain TAO competency for UGL Bridge Engineer.
