General Medicine and General Paediatrics are NOW on Australia s Expedited Specialist Registration Pathway.
From 19 January 2026, eligible internationally trained General Physicians and General Paediatricians can apply directly to the Medical Board of Australia without going through a full
Australian college assessment.
This is a fast-track route to specialist registration and consultant-level practice in Australia.

UK: MRCPCH + CCT (from Aug 2007)
Ireland: MRCPI (Paeds) + CSCST (from July 2010)

General Internal Medicine (from Aug 2007)
GIM + Acute Medicine (from Aug 2009)
Approved dual CCT pathways (from Aug 2019)
