Synopsis:
Overview of the Team The Risk and Analysis Team is the first line of Comcare's management of regulation of work health and safety for the jurisdiction.
The team provides a nationally integrated Notification, Helpdesk, and Intelligence capability designed to support the Regulatory Operations Group (ROG) in its delivery of targeted, risk-based regulation.
The team is geographically dispersed and consists of two sub-units: "Operations" and "Intelligence and Data".
Risk and Analysis – Operations Unit is responsible for managing and initially assessing Work, Health and Safety (WHS) incident and hazard notifications and operating the WHS Helpdesk for the Comcare jurisdiction.
It also delivers statutory authorization, approval, and licensing services.
Risk and Analysis – Intelligence and Data Unit supports ROG by reporting and analyzing WHS data, responding to internal information requests, and providing proactive and reactive intelligence to inform regulatory activities.
APS4 Information Support Officer Role Overview: Assist in the WHS Helpdesk operations (8:30am to 5:00pm, AEST/AEDT, Monday to Friday) to provide timely, appropriate, and accurate information and support to external stakeholders.Process incident and hazard notifications, WHS concerns, and authorizations in Comcare systems efficiently and accurately.Conduct initial assessments and analysis of incidents referencing relevant WHS information and intelligence to inform risk-based decisions.Contribute to reporting on emerging trends as requested.Support other parts of the organization with information requests as needed.APS5 Senior Information Support Officer Role Overview: Assist in the WHS Helpdesk operations to provide timely and accurate support to external stakeholders.Manage complex WHS inquiries, including psychosocial inquiries.Process standard and complex incident and hazard notifications, WHS concerns, and authorizations accurately.Conduct assessments referencing WHS information and intelligence.Respond to complex authorization inquiries.Mentor and assist team members to ensure high-quality service delivery.Identify emerging trends through reporting.Provide subject matter expertise for projects, procedural and system changes, and testing.Support other parts of the organization with information requests as needed.Qualifications and Experience Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and/or similar experience is desirable but not essential.Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment Australian citizenship.Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).Employee Health Declaration.Six months probation period for new engagements.Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.Some travel may be required, including overnight absences (expected to be limited to 1 or 2 times per annum).How to apply Please review the Job Information Pack below and provide a statement of claims outlining your skills, experience, and knowledge relevant to the role (maximum 2 pages).
