Role Overview
GSE Technician you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of aircraft services by maintaining and repairing essential ground support equipment. This includes working on a wide range of equipment such as belt loaders, tugs, stairs and other specialised machinery that keeps our operations moving.
In this role you will be responsible for diagnosing equipment issues quickly and implementing effective solutions to minimise disruptions. You'll ensure all maintenance and repairs comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications while completing documentation and reporting with accuracy and attention to detail. Ownership and accountability are key as you'll drive outcomes efficiently and maintain a strong focus on safe working practices and service standards.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners including ground handling providers and third‐party vendors to deliver reliable and efficient support for aircraft operations. Working in a fast‐paced and dynamic environment you'll need to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining operational excellence across a diverse range of equipment and systems.
Required Qualifications
* A relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Diesel Mechanic) or Auto Electrical or equivalent.
* Hands‐on experience in maintaining and repairing ground support equipment or similar machinery.
* Technical skills in diesel mechanics and/or auto electrical systems.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
* Strong understanding of safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
* High attention to detail with accurate documentation and reporting skills.
* Flexibility to work shift patterns including weekends.
* Proficiency in IT systems including Microsoft 365, IFS and tools booking systems with the ability to learn and use software effectively.
* Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners in a fast‐paced environment.
* Adaptability to changing priorities while maintaining operational excellence.
