About the role We are seeking a Freight Handler to join our Dry Creek depot on a full-time basis (38 hours per week). This role involves both freight manual handling tasks and computer-based desk work to support freight investigations, customer outcomes, and depot operations. A strong focus on accuracy, safety, and service excellence is essential, along with working collaboratively across teams to deliver effective solutions. What you’ll do • Carry out freight manual handling tasks including scanning, sorting, and locating freight within the depot. • Operate a forklift safely (LF licence required) to support daily freight handling activities. • Use systems such as Salesforce and internal tools to update and resolve freight enquiries accurately and on time. • Assist with depot-based investigations, including damaged, unidentified, redirected, or delayed freight. • Support customer collections and ensure freight issues are resolved quickly to meet service expectations. • Accurately record actions taken in systems and provide updates on progress to relevant stakeholders. • Monitor and action freight enquiries to ensure timely resolution within service level agreements. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and prevent recurring issues. • Support a safe and efficient working environment and perform other duties as assigned. What you’ll bring • Forklift LF licence (or readiness to obtain prior to commencement). • Willingness and capability to perform manual handling of freight. • Proficiency in basic computer use, including data entry and transport/logistics systems. • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. • Customer-focused mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Ability to thrive in a busy operational environment and resolve problems quickly.
