Description
We are looking for a Structural Discipline Lead within our Water Team to influence end‐to‐end delivery excellence. As a Discipline Leader (DL), you will lead a culture of technical excellence in your discipline, work with BC leaders to assess discipline capacity, and assist with career development of practitioners. You will drive development and implementation of discipline‐specific standard tools, processes, guidelines, design standards, training materials, and proactively capture and reuse intellectual property, best practice development, knowledge transfer, and integration in the business.

About the role
* Leading your Knowledge Community.
* Working with the Technical Delivery Leader, Sustainability Practice Leader, other Practice Leaders, Business Leaders and Group Leaders to assess discipline capability and capacity to meet market needs.
* Working with Practice Leaders and Project Managers to advise on the assignment of the right practitioners to deliver projects and the agreed review process / reviewers.
* Development and implementation of discipline‐specific standard tools, processes, guidelines, design standards, and training materials.
* Pro‐active capture and re‐use of intellectual property, best‐practice development, knowledge transfer and integration in the business.
* Coordination of regular communication with fellow practitioners across the Australian Water business.
* Assisting Group Leaders with the career development of their discipline practitioners.
* Promoting a culture of design technical excellence.
The Discipline Leader is an additional, value‐adding role that is expected to take no more than 4 to 8 hours per week. The duties are accounted for within the utilisation target and do not alter the substantive position in their discipline.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering for the equivalent Discipline.
* Membership of a relevant engineering professional body.
* Professional registration in a related field.
* Significant relevant experience in the Discipline.
