Green Sheep Project Manager

Based in Northam, WA

Full Time

Contract until March 2028

$92,276 per annum ($49.23 per hour)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead delivery of the WA component of the Green Sheep Project, which will examine the environmental impact of sheep within broadacre farming systems across the WA Wheatbelt.

This role suits someone with a strong scientific or technical background who enjoys turning data into action. You will design and deliver the project, work directly with farmers and supply chain partners, synthesise new and existing data, and communicate outcomes clearly to funders and industry.

You will be responsible for meeting milestones, managing budgets, coordinating stakeholders and producing high quality technical reporting. This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage complexity, meet deadlines and deliver results. The role will be part of the National Green Sheep Team with other participants located in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must address the following criteria in a cover note, supported by a resume with 2 referees.

1. Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi stakeholder projects within agriculture, environmental science or natural resource management, with a strong track record of meeting deadlines, budgets and engaging stakeholders.
2. Advanced technical capability in data collection, analysis and synthesis, including the ability to interpret scientific literature and translate findings into practical outcomes.
3. High level written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical or scientific reports for funders and industry audiences.
4. Strong organisational, coordination and self management skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a high performing team.
5. Tertiary qualification in Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or a related discipline.
