Embracing Lived Experience Leadership
We strive to empower individuals in their pursuit of mental health and wellbeing. Our services span across Australia, encompassing mental health, housing and homelessness, as well as suicide prevention initiatives.
Guided by the principles of Intentional Peer Support (IPS) and the National Lived Experience Workforce Guidelines, we foster a culture where Peer Workers can draw upon their personal experiences of distress, crisis, and/or trauma, and their journey towards recovery and healing, to support those facing similar challenges.
* Key Responsibilities: The ability to leverage one's own lived experience of mental health challenges, trauma, and/or injustice, and apply these learnings in leadership and practice. A willingness to be identified as a professional with lived experience of recovery.
* Requirements: Completion of Intentional Peer Support core training, Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work, Hearing Voices training or similar, and/or relevant work experience. A profound understanding of Lived Experience (Peer) principles and the Consumer/Carer movements. Demonstrated leadership qualities, with the capacity to motivate and empower team members.
