Senior Communications Advisor
Sunshine Coast | 3-Year Contract | Infrastructure Program
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Communications Advisor to join a high-performing team supporting major infrastructure projects across the Sunshine Coast region.
In this role, you will lead strategic communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives that help communities stay informed and connected to the progress and benefits of important infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will play a key role in developing clear messaging, managing communications activities, and supporting strong relationships with the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver strategic communication plans and campaigns supporting major infrastructure projects
* Partner with project teams to communicate the social and economic benefits of key initiatives
* Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, contractors and key stakeholders
* Prepare communication materials including media releases, newsletters, and social media content
* Provide trusted communications advice to senior leaders and project teams
* Identify potential communication risks and develop strategies to manage issues proactively
About You
You are a confident communications professional who can translate complex information into clear, engaging messaging. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
* Experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, public relations or a related field
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to engage communities and manage stakeholder relationships
* Ability to develop strategic communication plans and deliver effective messaging
* Government experience will be highly regarded
* Experience working on infrastructure or major projects is advantageous
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline highly desirable
* IAP2 Certification is advantageous
