We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Solution Architect to drive the technical vision and architecture for a significant, enterprise-wide AI Capability Uplift Program.
This pivotal role combines strategic Solution Architecture with hands-on Solution Design to ensure that all AI initiatives are scalable, secure, ethically compliant, and aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will be the technical leader responsible for shaping the foundational elements that will govern and enable sustainable AI adoption across the organisation.
Key Deliverables Accountabilities This role is central to establishing the core structures necessary for a mature AI capability: AI Governance Ethics: Define, establish, and implement the enterprise-wide governance framework for AI adoption, ensuring alignment with national government guidelines and ethical best practices.
Operating Model Capability: Design the AI Operating Model, including defining roles, responsibilities, Business-as-Usual (BAU) pathways, and the core technology stack required for sustainable AI operations.
Strategic Roadmapping: Develop the technical architecture capability model and a multi-year AI-Aligned Roadmap to strategically guide technology investment and adoption.
Enabling Environments: Lead the technical expansion of experimental AI sandbox environments (across major cloud providers) for innovation, prototyping, and rigorous testing.
AI Portfolio Management: Establish frameworks for the ongoing management of the AI initiative portfolio and capability development pipeline.
Tooling Cataloguing: Curate, document, and manage an AI Catalogue of secure, sanctioned AI tools, complete with technical documentation and user guides.
Use Case Delivery: Architect and technically guide the implementation of two initial, high-priority AI use cases to demonstrate immediate business impact.
Core Responsibilities Lead the technical design and architecture for all AI initiatives, ensuring strict compliance with enterprise standards, data privacy laws, and regulatory requirements.
Produce essential architecture artefacts, including Solution Outlines, Integration Patterns, Capability Models, and Technical Roadmaps.
Act as the technical liaison between business strategists, product owners, and engineering teams, translating strategic goals into actionable technical designs.
Provide expert technical guidance to delivery teams, reinforcing adherence to architectural principles and security standards.
Support the evaluation, procurement, and vendor management process for AI platforms, tools, and services.
Required Skills Competencies Architecture Expertise: Extensive experience in both Enterprise and Solution Architecture, including designing complex, high-availability, and scalable solutions.
AI Data Platform Knowledge: Deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning platforms, and major cloud AI services (e.g., Azure AI, AWS experimental labs).
Governance Compliance: Proven ability to establish and implement robust AI governance frameworks aligned with ethical AI principles, data privacy, and regulatory standards.
Cloud Integration: Expertise in API design, secure integration patterns, and developing high-performance, cloud-native architectures.
Stakeholder Leadership: Exceptional communication, influencing, and consultation skills to effectively engage and align senior business and technical stakeholders.
Delivery Leadership: Demonstrated ability to guide technical delivery teams through complex projects and ensure the successful, sustainable deployment of AI solutions.
Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated proficiency in developing comprehensive architecture artefacts (Solution Outlines, Capability Models, Technical Roadmaps).
Strong knowledge of AI technologies, data governance, and experience with both Azure and AWS environments, particularly experimental/sandbox setups.
Proven track record in designing secure integration patterns, APIs, and cloud-native solutions that balance innovation with risk management.
Extensive experience in developing AI operating models, capability frameworks, and leading cross-functional technical teams.
Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A strong foundation in ethical AI principles, data privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Qualifications Experience Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Relevant professional AI/Cloud architecture certifications.
Extensive proven experience as a Solution Architect leading enterprise-scale technology programs.
