The People Operations & Analytics division enables workforce excellence through streamlined processes, robust systems, and data-driven insights.
Opportunity : As Director, Operations & Enablement, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of HR services across payroll, systems, and analytics. You’ll drive digital transformation, process optimisation, and compliance assurance, while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability to enhance employee experience and enable evidence-based decision-making.
This is a full-time, 5-year fixed-term position based at Western Sydney University’s Parramatta Campus, with possible travel to other campuses. Please review the position description for further information.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead People Operations, Payroll & Compliance, and People Systems & Analytics functions.
- Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness, including managing payroll audit and remediation work.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement of HR processes, including Tier 0 and Tier 1 service functions.
- Oversee HRIS governance, data integrity, and reporting.
- Deliver people analytics to support strategic workforce planning.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver integrated HR services.
- Lead senior managers and foster a high-performance culture.
Who We’re Looking For
- Postgraduate qualifications in HR, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- Extensive senior leadership experience in HR operations, payroll, and analytics.
- Proven experience in building and managing Tier 0 and Tier 1 service functions.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HR compliance, including experience in payroll audit and remediation.
- Proven success in digital HR transformation and process optimisation.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
Desirable: Experience in higher education or public sector, familiarity with AI and emerging HR tech, and professional membership (e.g. AHRI, CPA/CA).
