Executive Leader in Nursing and Midwifery

The role of Executive Leader in Nursing and Midwifery at Tamworth Hospital involves leading nursing and midwifery services across acute, subacute, and specialist clinical areas. As the professional lead for nursing and midwifery services, you will be responsible for overseeing strategic planning, hospital rounds, escalations, and providing guidance to Nurse Unit Managers.

You will work collaboratively with the Director of Medical Services, General Manager, and executive team to support the Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery. Additionally, you will have ongoing support from the Nursing and Midwifery Directorate.

Tamworth Hospital serves over 180,000 people as the principal referral hospital for the northern sector of Hunter New England Local Health District. It offers emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, critical care, mental health, rehabilitation, and outpatient services, and is a teaching facility affiliated with the University of Newcastle.

This leadership position requires proven executive leadership skills in nursing or midwifery within a complex healthcare setting. Key responsibilities include:

* Developing and implementing strategies to improve clinical excellence, innovation, and service quality.
* Fostering strong partnerships and influencing stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
* Cultivating high-performing teams and developing leaders through training and development programs.
* Understanding the challenges and opportunities of regional / rural healthcare and contributing to its growth and development.

Requirements include:

* A current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
