Reception, Administration and Events Assistant

* Location: Keswick
* $60,000 - $65,000 + super full-time position

At Variety – the Children's Charity, we help children who are sick, living with disability or experiencing disadvantage to participate fully in life. Through grants, programs, events and community support, we create opportunities for kids to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face.

We're looking for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Reception, Administration & Events Assistant to join our team in Keswick.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, loves variety in their day, and wants to be part of an organisation that makes a real impact in the lives of South Australian children and families.

About the Role

As the first person many people meet or speak to at Variety SA, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience for our supporters, volunteers, families and event participants.

You will provide reception and administrative support across the organisation while also assisting with fundraising events, volunteer coordination and day-to-day office operations.

No two days are quite the same. One day you might be greeting visitors, helping with event registrations and supporting volunteers, and the next you could be assisting with donor communications, processing donations or helping prepare for one of our fundraising events.

What You'll Be Doing

Reception & Customer Service

* Welcoming visitors and providing a professional, friendly first impression
* Answering phone, email and website enquiries
* Coordinating meeting rooms, visitors and deliveries
* Keeping the reception area organised and welcoming

Administration Support

* Maintaining accurate records and databases
* Managing incoming and outgoing mail
* Ordering office supplies and stationery
* Assisting with reports, filing and general administration tasks
* Supporting travel bookings and meeting preparation

Fundraising & Events

* Assisting with event registrations and participant enquiries
* Supporting event communications and logistics
* Coordinating merchandise and event resources
* Maintaining event records and calendars
* Providing support at fundraising events when required

Volunteer & Donor Support

* Assisting with donor acknowledgements and receipting
* Supporting volunteer onboarding and administration
* Maintaining accurate supporter and volunteer records
* Coordinating volunteer communications

Finance Administration

* Assisting with donation processing and receipting
* Providing general finance administration support as required

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys helping people, takes pride in being organised and is keen to learn.

You don't need years of experience - attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved are just as important.

You'll bring

* Excellent communication and people skills
* A positive, can-do approach
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
* Confidence using Microsoft Office programs
* A willingness to learn new systems and processes

Experience in administration, reception, customer service, retail, hospitality or volunteering would be highly regarded, but isn't essential.

School leavers, graduates and people returning to the workforce are encouraged to apply.

Experience with Salesforce would be an advantage, but training will be provided.

What You'll Need

* The right to work in Australia
* A current Driver's Licence
* A Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one)
* A National Police Check (or the ability to obtain one)

Some evening or weekend work may be required to support fundraising events throughout the year.
