We have been supplying quality products to the power utility, telecommunication, cable television and data network industries as well as specialised niche markets since we began operating in Australia in 1961.ABOUT THE ROLE:We’re looking for a technically skilled and commercially savvy Product Manager to take ownership of our line hardware fittings portfolio within the power transmission sector. This is a pivotal role at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and market strategy—ensuring our products not only meet technical standards but also align with market demand and customer expectations.If you're passionate about product development, lifecycle management, and driving innovation in infrastructure-related solutions, this role offers the perfect platform.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Own the product roadmap for line hardware fittings (e.g., clamps, dampers, brackets, connectors).Define product positioning, value propositions, and differentiation in line with customer and market needs.Monitor product lifecycle from concept through to end-of-life, making recommendations for updates or discontinuation.Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and customer feedback sessions to identify trends and opportunities.Work with the sales team to gather field intelligence and identify gaps in the current offering.New Product Development (NPD):Lead or support the development of new or customised line fittings, working closely with engineering and manufacturing.Define technical and performance requirements, coordinate testing and certification and ensure readiness for market launch.Manufacturing & Cost Management:Collaborate with production and procurement to optimise product cost, manufacturability, and lead times.Ensure design-for-manufacture principles are applied and that products meet both performance and cost targets.Develop product documentation, datasheets, training materials, and technical support content.Provide product training and support to internal teams, channel partners, and customers.Support bids, tenders, and customer technical queries with timely and accurate product information.Compliance & Standards:Ensure product designs and specifications comply with relevant Australian and international standardsKeep abreast of regulatory changes and coordinate updates to products as needed.WHAT YOU BRING:Experience in product management, engineering, or technical sales—preferably in power transmission or electrical fittingsStrong understanding of line hardware products; their applications and relevant standardsExperience in collaborating with manufacturing to manage cost, quality, and deliveryAdvanced skills in market analysis, technical writing, and stakeholder engagementAbility to balance technical requirements with commercial prioritiesFamiliarity with ERP systems, CAD tools (desirable), and industry testing proceduresStrong project management and communication skills.A degree in Engineering, Product Management, or a related disciplineWHY JOIN OUR TEAM?To help shape the future of essential infrastructure products.Work with cross-functional teams in a high-impact role.Join a company committed to quality, innovation, and growth.Fantastic work culture with regular team building activities & events.Birthday Leave - have your birthday off on us.Convenient location - close to the M7 in Glendenning and off street parking available for all employees.Opportunity to purchase additional Annual Leave to help with balancing work/ life commitments.Generous Income Protection provided for all employees.Access to our Employee Assistance Program for employees & their immediate families.PLP Australia embrace the power of our people to make a difference to our customers in the market.
