**About our Role**:
We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Account Manager - Defence in Canberra ACT. Your primary responsibility will be to build long-term, trusted relationships with Defence, Intelligence and National Security clients while ensuring our commitments to them are being met and assist regional business managers with the commercial management of new and existing National Security contracts.
**What you will be involved in**:
- Lead sales opportunities from capture through to close, using a consultative sales approach.
- Develop and maintain strong enduring relationships with customers.
- Initiate and lead regular client meetings to sell Services and Products, and Training.
- Drive deeper adoption of Service's engagements and Product usage, identifying new opportunities in adjacent markets.
- Perform competitive market intelligence to provide input to strategic and business planning to expand our market share.
- Maintain sales pipeline and forecasting using CRM
- Participate at industry events and trade conferences.
- Collaborate with the Sales Lead, Business Manager's, and administration staff, to scope and quote
**What we would like from you**:
- Extensive experience in Defence or National Security business development, account management, procurement, and stakeholder management
- Established professional networks in Defence and National Security Industry with knowledge of Defence contracting (ASDEFCON) and panel procurement practices
- Proven sales experience with ability to engage with senior decision makers, ability to take control of the negotiation process, and close sales.
- Experience in selling complex technical solutions (geospatial and satellite imagery preferred)
- Experience writing and preparing sales proposals, tenders/bids, and account management plans.
- Experience managing the complete sales cycle, from prospecting and qualifying leads through to closing
- Demonstrated self-starter who embodies trust and reliability and the ability to work autonomously
- Minimum NV1 required, with AGSVA Clearance NV2 preferred
- Prepared to Travel Interstate and Internationally.
**Desirable requirements**:
- Experience working with geospatial software tools i.e., Esri or open source and geospatial data (e.g., raster and vector datasets).
- Experience working in Defence or National Security programs as either as an enlisted member or contractor/consultant.
- Experience using or knowledge of modelling and simulation tools in either land, sea, air or space domains.
- Knowledge of Challenger Sales methodology
