Job Overview
Casual registered nurses play a vital role in community nursing, providing essential care and support to patients in their homes. We are currently seeking experienced registered nurses for casual employment opportunities in Melbourne, Australia.
The primary focus of this position is to administer medications via syringe push, as required by the patient's treatment plan. Additionally, training in the home is required for the treatment of primary immunodeficiency, which involves teaching patients or their carers on how to self-infuse medication using an infusion pump.
Key Responsibilities
* Confirm each visit with the patient and ensure all necessary equipment is available.
* Set up and conduct infusions in a comfortable and suitable location for the patient.
* Complete post-infusion paperwork within 24 hours of each visit.
* Report any adverse events as per program protocol.
Essential Qualifications
* RN (Current Registration)
* Current Basic Life Support Certificate/CPR Certificate
* Current/full/unrestricted driver's licence
* Hand Hygiene Certificate & Infection Prevention Control Certificate
* Police Check & Working with Children Check
* IT Proficient
* Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
Desirable Skills
* Community nursing experience
* Porta Cath, fistula, PICC line experience
