A leading Top Tier Restaurant on the Queensland Sunshine Coast is seeking a passionate Head Chef and Chef to join our team.

If this is you, then please read on. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef and Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen in a full-time capacity.
This position is suited to a person seeking long term employment and is looking for the satisfaction of working with a team of passionate individuals. The successful applicant will work closely with our experienced kitchen team and in association with our Group Head Chef, assist in the daily operations and creation of exciting new dining experiences for our customers.
The remuneration packages for the positions are $70,000 to $80,000 for our Chef position and $85,000 to $95,000 for our Head Chef position, depending on skills and experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily operations and creation of exciting new dining experiences for customers, in association with the Group Head Chef.
- Work closely with the kitchen team in a fast-paced environment and lead by example in line with HACCP and WH&S; policies, procedures and daily management of Food Safety & Workplace Programs.
- Involve yourself in training and development of junior kitchen staff and mentor the team.
- Lead kitchen service, including food ordering, menu planning and costing as applicable.
- Take initiative and multi-task under pressure with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years demonstrated skills in preparation and cooking in a similar position; experience in Japanese fusion cookery is preferred.
- A motivated and passionate outlook of the Hospitality Industry as a whole.
- Strong leadership, excellent time management and mentoring skills.
- Some experience in menu planning and costing is advantageous.
- A keenness to involve yourself in the training and development of junior kitchen staff.
- Experience with food ordering and running a kitchen service.
- The ability to lead by example and implement the company’s HACCP and WH&S; policies and daily management of our Food Safety & Workplace Programs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to use initiative and multi-task when under pressure.
- A certificate in commercial cooking, food safety and WH&S; is preferred.
- The ability to work independently.
