About The Role
The Psychologist is primarily responsible for providing psychological services to d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing children from 2 years old to adolescents and their families primarily under NDIS funding, within the Therapy and Family Services Team (TAFS) at Deaf Connect. The Psychologist will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team with other allied health professionals.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Providing psychological support to clients from various backgrounds, age groups, and with different psychological needs
* Developing and implementing evidence-based intervention programs tailored to individual clients
* Assessing and managing clinical risks, including handling crisis situations and complex cases
* Keeping accurate clinical records in line with legal and organisational requirements
* Preparing reports and documentation for both internal and external stakeholders
* Monitoring and evaluating interventions, making adjustments as needed
* Collaborating with staff to ensure the best outcomes for clients
* Working independently, while contributing to a multidisciplinary team

About You
In your application, please highlight if you have these key skills and experience:
* Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with at least three years' experience
* Eligibility for, or current membership with, the Australian Psychological Society (APS) or relevant professional body.
* Experience treating children (2 years and up) across a broad range of presentations.
* Ability to provide services under NDIS.
* Knowledge and skills in clinical best practice, Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and principles
* of Family Centred Practice (FCP).
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a caseload, adjusting priorities to meet deadlines and respond to urgent matters.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
It would also be great if you have these additional skills and experience:
* Experience in Auslan highly regarded.
* Experience in Psychology assessments, including developmental assessments, cognitive and academic assessments, and diagnostic assessments (such as for Autism and ADHD).
