Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth – Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people
Roster: Monday to Friday
The Commercial Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting and commercial activities for Fortescue's international subsidiaries. The role will require an understanding of financial and management accounting, ideally with experience supporting mining operations internationally. The successful candidate will be detail orientated, with a strong understanding of cost allocation, financial reconciliation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare month end including accruals, payroll and other journal postings.
* Post and reconcile bank account transactions and entries recording funding of international subsidiaries.
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and take correcting action where required.
* Work with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate cost capture and allocation.
* Provide training and support in the use of the company ERP system, polices and guidelines.
* Assist the team with any ongoing projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* CA/CPA qualification or working towards.
* Experience with SAP is preferred but not essential.
* International experience preferrable.
* Experience in a similar role is highly regarded.
* Strong interpersonal skills, experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
