Amentum is looking for an Electrician to join our pecan team.
Essential Responsibilities
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various electrical systems, controls, and equipment in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety guidelines. This role requires technical expertise and the ability to work independently or collaboratively. The Electrician ensures that all work is completed with precision and adherence to electrical safety practices and hazard mitigation protocols. Primary responsibilities include:
* Electrical Installation: Install electrical systems, controls, wiring, circuits, and equipment in accordance with blueprints, diagrams, and applicable codes and regulations. Plan and execute wiring for new installations, modifications, and upgrades for lighting, power distribution, and other systems.
* Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify malfunctions, faults, or inefficiencies. Perform repairs or replacements of electrical components and equipment, including motors, transformers, breakers, relays, and lighting systems. Use testing equipment, such as voltmeters, ammeters, and circuit testers, to ensure system functionality and safety.
* Maintenance Tasks: Conduct routine maintenance to ensure electrical systems and equipment remain operational and compliant with safety standards. Perform preventative maintenance to avoid downtime, inefficiencies, and safety hazards.
* Safe Work Practices: Enforce and follow electrical safe work practices, including the use of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Mitigate hazards by ensuring compliance with safety protocols and applying SME knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safe work practices (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E).
* Tool Usage & Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools required for electrical work, ensuring tools are in proper working condition. Select and utilize appropriate equipment for specific tasks, ensuring efficiency and safety.
* Code Compliance & Standards: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with national, state, and local electrical codes and standards, including consensus codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices, applying them to daily work processes.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and installations. Update blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to reflect modifications or upgrades made to electrical systems.
* Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other trade professionals, supervisors, engineers, and contractors to complete projects successfully. Provide technical advice and support to team members, ensuring the timely achievement of project goals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to:
* High-voltage electrical systems and energized equipment.
* Extreme environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and wet or humid conditions, depending on job location.
* Mechanical hazards, sharp objects, and the risk of electrical shock.
The position requires:
* Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing to access and repair electrical components, as well as confined space work when necessary.
* Lifting and carrying tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Using precision tools and equipment to ensure accurate wiring and connections.
* Close vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus for wiring and system inspections.
Noise levels in the environment may range from moderate to loud, requiring the use of hearing protection in certain circumstances.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* At least five (5) years of experience in the electrical service and maintenance trade.
* Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools used in electrical work, including their safe use and maintenance.
* Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various electrical systems, controls, and equipment with minimal supervision.
* Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge of consensus codes and standards related to electrical safe work practices and hazard mitigation (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E).
* Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical instructions.
* Familiarity with basic mathematical functions for performing electrical load calculations and system measurements.
Clearance Required (If Applicable)
* TS/SCI with Poly
Minimum Education
* High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Years of Experience
* A minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical service and maintenance.
Required Certifications
* Journeyman's License or Equivalent (NITC-certified license).
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in industrial, commercial, or government electrical systems.
* Familiarity with energy-efficient electrical systems or renewable energy infrastructure.
* Technical certifications such as Master Electrician License, OSHA 30 Electrical Safety certification, or NETA certification.
* Experience in mission-critical or high-security facilities, such as data centers or government installations.
* Proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools and software for electrical system monitoring and repairs.
Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

60,000 to 110,000
