Provides, coordinates and/or delegates nursing care and manages resources in the delivery of care for patients, the family of patients and the community, with the goal of attaining, maintaining and restoring optimum health.Per Diem RequirementsWorking a minimum of 24 hours in a four-week schedule periodInpatient, Behavioral Health, and Emergency Department staff must work at least 12 hours on a weekend, holiday, or hard-to-fill shift.Holidays include: New Year’s, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and ChristmasHard-to-fill shifts include: Super bowl Sunday, President’s Day, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s EveSurgical Services staff must meet scheduling requirements as set by unit director / ACNOMinimum QualificationsFormal Education Required:Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)Applicants with an Associate’s degree will be considered but are required to obtain BSN within three (3) years of employmentGraduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of OhioExperience and Training Required:One (1) year recent experience in the area of practice.Additional related previous experience and/or preparation maybe required for specialty units.Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.Requires standing and walking for extended periods of timeRequires corrected vision and hearing to normal rangeRequires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.Requires exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment, such as risk of falls, strains, etc.Maintains current Basic Life Support certification; All nurses new to critical care, telemetry, PACU, and ED must successfully complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support within the first six months and maintain current card. Experienced critical care RNs and RNs hired as per diems in critical care, telemetry, PACU, and ED are expected to have ACLS certification upon hire.
